TO BE A FIREMAN,
I HAVE NO AMBITION IN THIS WORLD BUT ONE, AND THAT IS TO BE A FIREMAN. THE
POSITION MAY, IN THE EYES OF SOME, APPEAR TO BE A LOWLY ONE, BUT THOSE WHO KNOW
THE WORK WHICH A FIREMAN HAS TO DO BELIEVE HIS IS A NOBEL CALLING. OUR PROUDEST
MOMENT IS TO SAVE LIVES. UNDER THE IMPULSE OF SUCH THOUGHTS THE NOBILITY OF THE
OCCUPATION THRILLS US AND STIMULATES US TO DEEDS OF DARING, EVEN OF SUPREME
SACRIFICE.
Edward F. Crocker
Chief of Department, FDNY, 1899-1911
When I was 4 years old my grandfather was a volunteer firefighter with a local
fire company. I remember him going to car opening the trunk and there it
was….his rubber coat, tin hat and rubber hip boots. I was so excited about it
and he let me try it on. As you can imagine he was 6’1 and I was about 4’ high.
So I am swimming in the turn out equipment. After my grandfather saw me in it,
and asked if I liked it, he took me to the firehouse. Wow….what a high I was on.
Just as we arrived at the firehouse I remember very clearly that they had a fire
call. Even though I had to stay at the firehouse, he went. I saw this big red
fire truck scream out the door and everyone putting on their gear. The siren was
wailing. I knew right there I wanted to be a firefighter.
I just want to be a firefighter. But, several years later, I am still a
firefighter in heart and no one can take my soul away.
The reason I write this is that this is part of a book I am writing about dreams
and how some people can be selfish and quest to hurt others. Next time a child
says they want to be a firefighter, help them, don’t destroy their dream. Also
for firefighters who have the job, truly know how good you have it. I mean
really know, because not having the job is worse than death itself.
Sincerely:
(Note: This posting has been edited.)

Very nice site. My sister recently visited the Ten House this summer. My brother
and I are firefighters in West Virginia. I'm sure things are a lot different
there compared to here. Firefighters, whether career or volunteer, are a true
brotherhood. I don't know one that would not stand behind the other when it came
down to it. God bless you all and have a wonderful and safe Christmas.

I was in NY for a couple days last week and honored to be able to visit the Ten

We share a common kinship. Not only are we firefighters, but 9/11 is my

I visited New York City in November of this year. I visited The FDNY Ten House
when I went the Ground Zero. It was very emotional, I saw the memorial on the
side of your building and even stopped in and said hello to a couple of
firefighters that were there. I'm from West Virginia, but I remember that day in
2001 and I feel for all of you who helped and gave their lives during that
horrible day. Thank you for doing what you do.

Hello,
My Name is Kayre White. I recently visited the fire house not to long ago. It
was the day after thanksgiving. I came in with my family, there was 9 of us all
together. I brought cookies for all of you guys there. I spoke with firemen
Sands, he was very nice. One reason why I wanted to visit was because I am doing
my Senior Project of "How many Americans are still being affected by 9/11!" and
I wanted to actually see it all for myself and take pictures. I really enjoyed
my time up there in New York, it was a lot different then it is here in little
old Elizabeth City, North Carolina.
I just wanted to say thank you for your time and for allowing me and my family
to come inside the department and see the memorial wall and fire trucks it meant
a lot to me.
Thank you for everything you do. Kayre White

I was very taken by your story.
It has been said something along the lines of how talking about the tragedy
helps in the healing process. I have also found that to be true for myself. So, keep talking guys
and telling your stories.
Trauma has a strange way of collecting awful thoughts and feelings into a dark
place in our heads if we don't or can't let it out. It's like the dark thoughts
and nightmares are trapped inside us. Talking releases them into the light and
somehow it looks and sounds different. It's like our perception of the event is
altered and gets easier to handle with each telling. When others hear us talk
and relate their story, we get to know folks with similar stories and stop
feeling so alone.
I hope that this is making some sense to you all. The point is keep talking, it
will help you to heal.
Every story you tell also creates an oral or written history. 50 and 100 years
from now our descendents will treasure your witness to history. They will hang
on every word. Many will be affected and LEARN from what you say.
I study history and apply it to my family. I am so grateful to the ordinary
folks who tell their stories, they have taught me much about my family and who I
am. I actually have many, many cousins still in New York. Although we don't know
each other, I know they're there. Heck, maybe Ten House guys are my cousins.
Haw-haw! My earliest ancestor arrived there in 1765. His story is what the
common man endured during the Revolutionary War.
Anyway, when there is a gap in my family's story, I go to history books to help
me understand what my ancestor was experiencing. I know that our children will
do the same with the facts that you relate. Someday you will help someone's
descendents understand what their ancestor endured.
You may think that it's morbid to tell these awful stories, but what I and
others get from them is a sense of what our own countrymen and women when
through. A way to understand and offer a hug, a knowing nod. We are all affected
by this tragedy. We all suffer from it. We all worry about New Yorkers. We all
care.
Thank God Ten House is still there. Take care and God Bless.

As an active or retired member of the FDNY (or family member of a FDNY member
who perished on 9/11), I strongly oppose Mayor Michael Bloomberg putting words
in my mouth as related to the three retired FDNY members who died on 9/11. "The
mayor's office says it has been an FDNY tradition that only those who die on
active duty get the honors, and the vast majority of firefighters support that
tradition." (Mayor Says Not To Honor Retired Firefighters Killed On 9/11 Same As
Active Members- see full article below). I support these men, my brothers, being
listed on the wall of honor and resent Mayor Bloomberg stating that I, a member
of the FDNY (or family member of a member who died on 9/11 saving others), do
not.

Brothers, I returned to NY from my retirement home in AZ late on 9/10/01 and was
at Broad and Water when it all happened for scheduled personal business.
Instead, worked with FDNY and NYPD personnel that week at Chelsea Piers Triage
and at the EOC, and returned for FDNY Memorial Day with my Mesa, AZ FD honor
guard and pipe band in 10/02. We were privileged to play for the company
memorial (after the rainy parade and ceremonies at the Garden) at 26 Engine.
Looking forward to visiting Ten House and the Memorials (yours and the
Department's) the end of this month when I'll be in Manhattan. Stay safe!

Landing Team (BLT) to land in Afghanistan. We took over Kandiahr airport. We all
knew why we where there, for some pay back. And be assured we got some! I have
since been to the country three more times in my 6 years in the Marines. It has
taken me many years to write to the FDNY sharing my expressions/feelings from
that day. I too have lost brothers in the fight, but pushed through it, so their
memory and death would not be forgotten or in vain.
So I thank you again for all the service you did and will continue to do. And
rest assured that when you do rest your head at night, when there are no alarms
going off or calls coming in, rest assured cause, "The US Marines are on watch
and sleep in peace".
Thank you.

We visited FDNY Ten House on 9/30/06 while on a family vacation. What an honor
is was to meet some of the fire fighters. They were so gracious... posing for
pictures, signing autographs and talking to each and everyone who stopped by. We
are a family of cops, fire fighters and military and can relate to the
sacrifices made on 9/11 and everyday since then. Please, let my family
personally thank The Ten House and all the other first responders on that
fateful day. We are so blessed to have met you.

My father died as a result of a fire. The kindness that was extended to me and
my sisters after his death by those firefighters who responded to my dad's fire
was actually more comfort than any words of sympathy we received. To most
people, firefighters became heroes on the morning of September 11 where so many
lost their lives protecting and saving the lives of others. But to me,
firefighters became my heroes many years ago. It takes a special person to do
what you do. From my own personal experience, I know this. So, be proud of
yourself. You, along with all of the men and women you work with. For as long as
I can remember the only heroes children had to look up to were athletes and
action figures. Thank you for giving children true heroes to look up to. And
thank you for showing all of us the hope that true goodness can overcome the
worst of anything in anyone. A fireman's dedication and bravery is like no
other. And their selflessness gives us hope that humanity for one another still
exists.....so, again, thank you, you and all fireman, police, military are truly
an inspiration.
God bless all of you and may this find you all safe today and for all the days
to come.
Again, with gratitude and admiration,

To all the men and women of ten house and all the great firefighters in the FDNY
I would like to say thank you! Thank you for sacrificing your life to provide
life for others. Thank you to the wives/husbands and family members of all the
firefighters for sacrificing time with dad/mom. Thank you all for putting others
before yourselves and for making the ultimate sacrifice.
I live in San Francisco, CA and have visited the site of the world trade center
a few times since September 2001. It was very emotional to stand at the site and
think that 2,975 people lost their life there. it literally blew my mind. As I
walked around the site I cam down Liberty St. and saw Ladder Co. 10. My first
thoughts were the realization that those firefighters were probably the first on
the scene and unfortunately, many of those great men and women lost their life
trying to help people survive the attack.
I walked up the fire house and saw a firefighter standing in the shadow of The
World Trade Center. I stopped for a moment and asked if I could take his picture
and shake his hand. I just wished that I could reach out and shake the hand of
each and every fire fighter, paramedic, port authority officer, police officer
that lost their life saving the life of another American. I began to think about
the concept that thousands of people were running from the disaster and FDNY
NYPD were running to the site to help.
That makes me proud as hell to be an American. I can't say or do anything that
can change what happened five years ago, but what I can do is remind people of
the ultimate sacrifice made by so many great Americans. I can remember those
people who lost their lives.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. My heart and thoughts are with each and
every family member who lost someone that terrible day. I will never forget.

I am 27, and currently living in Phoenix, AZ. Every year leading up to 9/11 is
difficult for me, as one of my dearest friends from high school was on the plane
that struck the first Tower. And every year, I say a prayer for her, and a
prayer for all FDNY members.
I was born in and adopted from another country. As someone who was brought into
this country from another, I have a high appreciation for the United States. One
thing I will never understand is another country's hatred for ours.
I feel safe knowing that there are gentlemen like yourselves who appreciate who
we are as US Citizens, and what we stand for. I know that 9/11/01 was a very sad
day for all of you, but I also know that nobody should be ashamed for living
through it. If it wasn't for you, I don't know what we would have done as a
country to have as bravery. No one had to ask you to go back and look for
survivors, no one had to ask you to help our citizens. You did it because you
love your job, mankind and your country, and we love you.
Everyday we hear the words, "Never Forget." I don't think that we ever will. One
thing that you don't hear as much is "Never Forget the One's Who Helped Save
Us." That means you. I will never forget what you as loving and dedicated men
did for the country that I was so fortunate to come too. You may have only been
in New York, but the entire country (and the world I believe) has seen your
rescues, and we thank you for it.
I have not been back to NY for years (as it is still too hard to be there), but
I say a prayer every night for it and for you.
Thank you for rescuing all Americans, and know that we hold you gentlemen in the
highest regard.
Sincerely,
Danica

Hey brothers, how is everyone doing? I am a Captain of the Carmel Fire
Department from Carmel Indiana. We were so lucky to have one of your own visit us after 911. The
City television channel still runs a video tape of when he spoke to the City of
Carmel employees about 911. I know that we all think about your department and pray
with you and for you all the time. I just wanted to congratulate your department
and especially the “10 House” on receiving the bronze memorial at your station.
I saw it for the first time on Rescue Me. What a great show. And also what an
honor it must have been to receive a visit from the President of the United
States. I’m not much for words but wanted to let the 10 House know that
we hope everyone is well. God bless you, and stay safe.

As another year passes, we remember those lost on September 11, 2001. Thank you
for your bravery. Thank you for your courage. Thank you for showing the world
what true heroes are. I know your house lost men that day, and for that, my
prayers go out to you. It's taken me five years to get up the courage to write
to a firehouse in New York City. Maybe because I didn't know what to say. Maybe
because all of this still seems like a bad dream. Maybe because the only two
phrases that came to mind to even write are: thank you....and....I'm sorry.
As I watched the events unfold that day, I saw the bravest men rush to save
others. The actions of all of New York City's firefighters saved thousands of
lives....thank you.
I don't really know what else to say. It saddens me that something like this
happened...I wish it never did.
Thank you for saving lives, thank you for bringing security to a chaotic
situation, thank you for being the greatest firefighters in the world.
Sincerely,
Cristina

I had the opportunity to be in NYC for a workshop at the end of July. While
there, a few of us made it a point to visit Ground Zero. I teach 6th grade
in IN and know that with each passing year, my students won't remember that
dreadful day in our history. I was fortunate to get pictures and stop off at
your firehouse. There I was allowed in the firehouse to get pictures of the memorial
and the fire truck. Armed with all of this and the many other photos I took, I
was able to put together a photo story for my students. Because of my experience
of being there, the stories I was able to share, and the many photos I could put
in video format, my students wanted to know more and talk about that date in
history and what is being done now.
Thank you for taking the time to share your stories so I can make sure my
students never forget.

Good afternoon to all the guy's and gal's of Ladder 10. I just wanted to drop a
quick email to say thanks for last Friday the 22nd of Sep 2006. Being a United
Airlines Employee, Naval Reservists and fellow New Yorker now residing in
Denver. It has taken me a very long time to visit Ground Zero. Since I was never
able to fully put what happened that day into perspective with losing so many
co-workers at United and NY to rest. I was finally able to make it down to
Ground Zero last Friday the 22nd of Sep. I had the sincere honor of meeting and
speaking with FDNY fireman Spinard. I cannot remember his first name but he was
nice enough to take at least 20 minutes to speak with me. Please pass my sincere
heartfelt thanks along to him and may God Bless you all. Let me say there is not
a day that goes by since that fateful September morning that I do not think of
you all. Especially when I put on my Naval uniform in honor of all the brave
FDNY folk that left us that day.
If you can pass this email along to Mr. Spinard that I was asking for him would
be great. God Bless you all and God Bless America.
Best Regards,
Petty Officer Cully-United States Navy. (Croton-On-Hudson, NY)

recently our Battalion of AH-64D Longbow Apaches have been flying the american
flag in side the cockpits of our aircraft, right over the streets of Baghdad. We
do this to let the people who attacked us that the American people will never
forget that day. I recently had a flag flown on the 5th anniversary of September
11th and would like the certificate and the flag to be yours, for all the people
who are there and were there. I can not think of someone who might like this
more than the heroes who survived and the ones who paid the greatest price.
Please email me and let me know if you are interested. The flag is not very big
and the certificate isn't anything real fancy, but the idea is what makes this a

I visited your fire station on september 7th and was greeted by 2 fine
firefighters I promised I would write them a little poem so here it is.. You are
all in my heart and I pray for you often.. Denyse .. here's the Poem.. I WILL
NEVER FORGET .. SEPTEMBER 11TH , 2001
I will never forget , september 11th, 2001
The incredible dedication of all your fine Firefighters !
Of all your First Responders, of all your fine Police force!
They never gave up !
They never lost courage!
True ... They did what they had to do !
But..
They went far and beyond ...
The Call of Duty...
Their ultimate gift to us all
Was their life !
So precious this life !...
For many of them... left their loving wife and
Their adorable children... and ...
Their families and friends who loved them so!
No .. I will never forget September 11th, 2001
But .. I will remember forever..
That on September 11th, 2001 !...
Unconditional Love ,
Total Devotion and Courage
And .. Determination to save one’s fellowman
Were here too ,
Near that Beautiful Lady ,
We call Liberty...
And for those of you here!..
Who are following
These wonderful heroes footsteps,
May I say in all humility..
You are Living Angels
For us all !
And for you ..
I truly care too !

I appreciate all of the FDNY. Vinny Petrocelli placed my poem on
BravestMemorial. com for all of the FDNY. I wanted to write my poem on each and
ever FDNY person who gave their all so others could live. Being cripple and not
computer savvy, I did not know how to copy or paste. I wanted to share with all
of the FDNY what God put in my heart on that ill fated day of 9/11/01 God put in
my heart to write this poem. It is called, "Lady Liberty." It is for the ones
who gave their all, and those they left behind. I will never in a million years
understand how these cowards have so much hate for us in America, to do such a
cowardly act. May God bless all of you who are left to carry on. You are hero's
too. On this 9/11/01 all of yawl became hero's forever.
"Lady Liberty"
Today I watched in disbelief as Lady Liberty held her head down to cry.
She silently weep tears of sadness for our grief.
She could not believe what had happened in our skies.
The anger was hard for her to control but, she is an American true and proud.
She held her torch high to let us know.
We are United and we will regain control.
This is our country.
This is our goal.
From this day forward (Sept. 11th 2001) we will not be undersold.
Our Nation stands tall with this symbol so bold.
Gods hands opened up to comfort us and agreed.
Protection we shall find in him;
In him be ever blessed.
Today Lady Liberty said, "Fear not children, for as I stand so tall, so shall
our greatness as we make these cowards learn and fall."
"I will keep my watch and greet the world with my smile."
I will stand as I have always stood, Mighty and true."
"For , I am the symbol,"
"The symbol that we can unite ever brother, sister, and friend."
I will light the stairways to Heaven for our HERO'S way."
"I am the gateway to America and freedom."
"I will keep a watchful eye."
"You are my Ambassadors to our World."
Then she finished her speech with a silent prayer.
I heard her whisper ,"God bless America," and "Keep us in your care."
She raised her head up and her crown how it glimmered and shined.
Once again, I am reminded we are from Jesus; and with his love we are only here
by the grace of the Devine!

I had the honor of visiting 10 House a couple of years before 9/11 on a bus
trip. Even thou we arrived unannounced, we were treated very well and given a
tour of the station and the rigs. I had never been to the Big Apple before, and
must say had heard "stories" about how we would be treated, none of them good. I
can say now that not only were the firefighters a great bunch of guys, but the
great people of New York were kinder and more polite to strangers than the
people of my home town. We visited a few stations in the area that day, and even
thou our visits were brief, we made friends with the guys from 10 House and
Ladder 11. As a former paid firefighter myself, 9/11 was devastating to my wife
and I. Having the brief tie we had to these men made this even more painful to
us. We hope to get back to 10 House again soon to pay our respects. May God rest
the souls of those lost, and God bless you guys.

local church had a service that I attended and during the service we were all
asked to come up and choose a name from the basket. I pulled Paul Pansini's name
and for the past 4 years I have carried this piece of paper with me in my wallet

It was five years ago today that I watched as two aircraft were flown into the
World Trade Center. Immediately my thoughts went to my family members that lived
and worked in New York. The next few days events were very tough. Although I am
a member of the "Southern" part of the family, we are still family. We watched
and waited as one by one of the four brothers checked in except Gregg. Today,
five years later I am more proud than ever to be able to say that Gregg Atlas
was my cousin. As you all know, it takes a very special individual to do what
Gregg and his fellow firefighters did that day and on a daily basis. Today as I
reflect on the events of that day and the five years that have passed all I can
say is Thank You. Thank you to Gregg, his wife and children, my Aunt Ruthie and
Uncle Don, Don, Keith, Scott, and all who made the sacrifice on September 11,
2001. You made me proud to be part of the family and to be an American.

We visited NYC during Thanksgiving 4 yrs ago we walked around and "stumbled
upon" Company 10. As we stood quietly remembering all of the horrible
details of 9-11 we once again felt very sad for the men who without a second
thought did their job to save lives, while losing theirs. A few minutes
later, a man came out
to say hi. My daughter thought he was cute and wanted her picture taken with
him. He posed, and posed, and was so patient with us. If only We knew at that
time, that he was there just like the rest of NYFD risking his life to save
lives we would have thanked him, personally and with pride. Instead, we
thanked him for letting us take pictures with him. So tonight on the eve of
the 5th anniversary of 9-11 We thank you, and I will thank you again
tomorrow at 8:46 am and every year, for it was a gift to have met a
firefighter who did his job without hesitation on 9-11.

Fire men are members of the strange group of people who will run towards an
emergency instead of away, they will risk themselves to save others. As we
watched the events of 9/11/01 from across the world in the uk, we were struck by
the bravery and courage shown by all of the New York fire fighters who tried to
save people from the towers.
The images of the day will be with me until the day i die, especially the empty
coat pegs in the fire houses where your guys should be.
I wish i could turn back the clock to before that day, so that once more we
could all live in a world where that level of evil did not exist, so that you
guys could have a few more minutes with your friends and colleagues who gave
themselves trying to save others.
Words like 'Great' and 'Hero' are used to often, but everyone of the people who
went into those towers, or sifted for weeks through rubble looking for survivors
are great heroes.
It will never bring them back but you should all be so very proud of yourselves,
mine and i am sure, many other people in the UK send our best wishes to you on
the 5th anniversary of the attacks. We will never know what it feels like, but
you are all in our prayers and thoughts at this difficult time.
Best Wishes

As firefighters we tend to forget when a civilian says thanks or honors us in

lifetime.
Thank you for honoring your men this way.

Hello....nearly five years on from 9/11 we were reminded to look up the photo's
of our holiday in NY to celebrate Carol's 50th Birthday. I was taking a picture
of the Birthday Girl against a backdrop of your Ladder 10 when they popped both
barrels of the bull horn. I remember the guys laughing and we were later very
sad to think that some of them may have been among those lost on that terrible
day. We hope to be able to call and pay our respects in person sometime soon.

read more about Engine 10. I walked by that house for more than 10 years - every
day. I was only 18 when I started working at 120 Broadway and I loved walking by
that firehouse! My dad was a NYC Police Officer for over 30 years and sadly we
lost him before 9/11 but I have nothing but respect and admiration for you all.
I thank you for keeping us safe, I thank you for running into burning buildings

I visited the firehouse in early July while in New York for the first time. I'm
disappointed in myself that I couldn't think of the right thing to say to thank
the firefighters that day. I thought they must have heard it all and possibly
were tired of the attention.
I saw the movie World Trade Center yesterday and two new television shows about
9/11 last night. The theater audience was quite subdued and more than myself
were crying at times.
I guess there's not much most of us can do except try to be better people, help
others when we can and thank those that are entrusted with our safety at the
risk of their own. Thanks.

Hey guy's wanted to say hello and thanks for the hospitality. I made a day trip
from CT to NYC. I caught the Mets, Pirates game on the 4th. I wanted to visit 10
House and the WTC site. I also knew about the memorial because I have you guys
as one of my favorites on the CPU. It was really something to come down and see
it, but didn't want to bother you guys and understand why you have to keep the
bay doors closed most of the time. I know you get people there all the time and
wanted to respect your space. On the other hand LT (never caught his name) E-10
and I talked a little about the Mets and there pitching staff after wishing
everyone a happy 4th. Next time I'm down for a Mets game and the pitching staff
holds on through the season... I'll make sure to stop by and say hello again.

Thank God for the FDNY. Our family tradition goes back to my great uncle, Grant
Miller in the late forties and continued with my uncle Richard Mulligan ( Lt.
retired from Ladder 79 0n Jewett Ave. in SI and his son, Jeff who works at
80/157). Several more of my cousins are presently active members of the FDNY. We
were blessed on 9/11 because no one in my family was lost. I have met one of the
men from your house who is the brother of my close friends husband. I don't know
if Kevin Ekberg is still with ten house but if you are Kevin, ask your Dad Ken
to tell you about "mischief". We grew up on the same block and your Aunt Marilyn
is one of my oldest friends! To all of the men at ten house, God Bless each and

I am moved by the patch that represents your house. I was one of the many people
your brothers passed in the stairs on 9/11. I spoke to your brothers as they
went up as I continued down. I came back to NY to talk to the firefighters in
that house and met with one young man who was a part of that team and with God's
grace was not in the towers that day. I still see the faces of those men and
thank the men and women who still put their lives on the line for us.
God bless you and yours. Stay safe & come home:}

I was up in New York this past week with my family, As with all fire fighting
families we stopped by a few houses, E10/L10 was one of them. My father and I
are both firefighters from Maryland and having belonged to a Company 10 with
both an Engine and Ladder the "Ten House" has always been our favorite. We
always planned to stop by and say hi if we were ever up in the city. While up
this week we stopped by to say hi but unfortunately both the Engine and Ladder
had just pulled out on a run, Maybe next time guys. On behalf of my family may
you all be in our thoughts and prayers, Stay safe, and may all of our fallen
brothers from 10/10 and the FDNY "Never be forgotten" and my they live on in all
that you do to keep the Tradition, PRIDE and DEDICATION of the FDNY.

I wanted to let you know that you have touched my daughters life 1500 miles away
from New York.
Her name is Kizmin Michela, and she is 3 now. She was born September 10, 2002.
She learned about you in 2005, when my father brought back from New York four
pictures of E10 and L10, and that was all it took. She fell in love with fire
trucks, and loves them all. But she has a very large soft spot in her heart for
the 10 House, and both of your rigs. She wears her FDNY t-shirt every chance she
gets. She has the Code 3 version of E10, and will probably not let daddy rest
until she has L10 also. The picture on the front of your home page currently
graces the desktop of my computer, and every day she comes in to make sure that
picture is still there. She commented to her mother and I the other night, that
your trucks are special, because they are both 10, just like her birthday, and
when she said her prayers that night, she asked God to bless you all, and said
night night to the rigs on the monitor.
I just wanted to let you know that there is an angel out west that thinks the
world of you. Someday I will bring her down to Liberty Street in NYC, and let
her see the 10 House in person. Until then, I just wanted to say Thank You, for
everything you do for all of us, and Thank You, for touching my daughters life
and making her smile.
Sincerely yours, Mark and daughter Kizmin

When visiting ground zero yesterday, my wife and I walked by the ten house . At
that point I did not know about it or think about it that much, the trucks
actually went out when we were there. As the day went on I thought more and more
about the role the ten house must have played on 9/11. I talked to my wife last
evening and she expressed the same feelings. Now, I wish I would have spent more
time at your house and maybe would have been able to express my gratitude in
person. Thanks to all of you at the 10 house. Tom & laurel from Indiana

On 11SEP2005, my 34th birthday, I was honored to be able to watch the memorial
services from the front steps of your fire house. For what time you were able to
share with me, I am greatly honored. I remember waking on my birthday that
morning in 2001 to a phone call from a friend in Seattle who told me the news. I
turned on the TV to watch the 2nd plane strike and was floored with both rage
and sadness. Having been a fireman here in Iowa for the last 8 years, I share in
the personal loss you all encountered that day. The terrorists took my birthday
and 343 fellow firefighters that September morning. My heart goes out to you and
your families.

I did not know FF Sean Tallon, but I served with his fellow Marines while I was
with the Navy in 2002 and they all had High regards for this fine young man. On
9-11 FDNY and the US Marines lost on of the best.

Hi Guys, My whole family is in the Metro Fire brigade in Melbourne Australia. I
have been trying for ages to find an email address of someone in the NYFD to
contact. I'm a 29yr female into all sports. so i guess someone about that age
would be awesome. but anyone who wants to contact me would be much appreciated.
I'm am wanting to know if someone would like to swap an australian fire brigade
shirt for a NYFD shirt with me. I know you can buy them but i am after an
official one that the guys actually wear. I know this sounds really strange. If
you are interested in contacting me and finding out more, please email me at
ripcurl_1976AThotmail.com. Look forward to hearing from someone.
