Robert Beddia Joseph Grafagnino

Firefighters Joseph Graffagnino, 33, of Ladder Company 5, and Robert Beddia, 53, of Engine Company 24 were killed in the line of duty on August 18, 2007 fighting a seven-alarm blaze at the former Deutsche Bank directly across the street from the FDNY Engine 10 and Ladder 10 Firehouse

The Deutsche Building is across the street from the Ten House to the west.  The World Trade Center site is across the street to the north of the Ten House.

Previous Incident at Deutsche Bank

Three Ten House firefighters suffered minor injuries on Thursday, May 17.  A 14 ft. pipe fell from the 35th floor of the former Deutsche Bank building and came crashing through the 2nd floor roof of the House onto the second floor stairwell. The Deutsche Bank building was damaged on 9/11 and is being taken down.  Two members were within a few feet of the crash.
